Falling for South Korea - Jeju Island (Part 2)

Day 3: Sangumburi Crater - Trick Art Museum - Seongsan Ilchulbong - Haenyeo Performance - Seafood Early Dinner - Seopjikoji

Today is just another splendid day in Jeju island with a refreshing morning dew, blue sky and sunny day. We started earlier today and had a cup of coffee Before riding, we decided on where to go and which route to take. Our first point was Sangumburi crater which is 50++ kms from Seogwipo city. We took route 1136 (Mid-Mountain road) and changed at route 1112 (Bijalimno road). The route that we pass through is more comfortable and less vehicles on the road. There are so many tangerine orchards and the smell of fertilizers sometimes fill our nostrils.

SANGUMBURI CRATER

It was quite easy to get to Sangumburi crater though we missed a junction at first. After 45 minutes, we arrived the entrance to the crater ad there is a fee of KRW 6000 per person to get to the crater. I did not read much about this place but visiting this place was worth though some may regret it. The main attraction here was not the crater itself, but the pampas grass that grow on every single land along the walkway towards the crater.

Pampas grass

Just a weed i guess

There is not much thing can be done here but I love spending time here. The environment is nice and lovely. I managed to snap pictures of several species of flowers (sadly I do not both their common and scientific names) which is to say macro shots can be done here.

This looks like lupens.

They are really tiny!!

When we were done with macro shots, we had our late breakfast consist of crackers and breads with tuna, under the blue sky. The sun hid within the clouds and the breeze was really comforting. We enjoyed our meal while appreciating the mesmerizing yet simple landscape here. After re-energizing, we did more phtographing and around 10.45 am, we headed to Trick Art Museum

Just me

The sky, the rocks and the grass

Creative!!

A few minutes ride from the exit of Sangumburi crater, there is a small area full of a type of flower. We had a quick photo stop at this area.

Lovely flowers here and there

White, pink and magenta, a sweet combination of colors.

Never fail to interframe.

TRICK ART MUSEUM

Several kilometers away from Sangumburi crater, several other attractions can be visited such as the Trick Art Museum, Seongup Folk Village, Oreums and many others. So, we decided to have some art fun as the Trick Art Museum. The entrance fee is KRW 5000. It is amazing to witness human creativity and talent to create paintings which may deceive our mind at the first glance. This museum was not that big but I bet many of the visitors spent longer time here enjoying the arts and photographing.

That is not wine, but grape juice

Take the chance and hope for a prince!!

I'm stuck here!!
